“E\u00e9n toertocht met zeven unieke klimmen in Limburg en de Voerstreek die je vast nog nooit hebt gefietst.”<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Limburg en de Voerstreek staan op het podium van de mooiste fietsgebieden van de wereld. Nergens vind je een gevarieerder terrein, waar ook nog eens de allerbeste wielrenners hun kunsten komen vertonen in de Volta Limburg Classic en, natuurlijk, de Amstel Gold Race. Veel van die renners zeggen het zelf: de Amstel is hun favoriete wedstrijd. Ook voor toerders biedt het terrein veel moois. Roep Cauberg, Keutenberg of Eyserbosweg en je zult steunen en kreunen horen. Van pijn en verlangen. Maar die bergjes kennen we wel en als we de weg niet weten dan kun je vertrouwen op de bordjes van de organisatie van de Amstel Gold Race. Maar de grensstreek heeft nog veel meer moois te bieden. Daarom deze unieke toertocht in Limburg die relatief onbekend zijn, maar die veel te mooi zijn om te laten liggen.<\/p>\n

1. Schophemheide<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Net over de grens in de Voerstreek leidt een steil weggetje je door de bossen, van ‘s Gravenvoeren naar uiteindelijk Ulvend. Het wegdek bestaat uit betonplaten en is inmiddels redelijk van kwaliteit, waardoor de klim misschien wat meer mainstream gaat worden.

Gemiddeld stijgingspercentage: 8,6%
Lengte: 0,77<\/p>\n

2. Rullen<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

In veel toertochten en fietsritjes is de Krommejong opgenomen: een geleidelijke klim die leidt van Voeren naar de doorgaande weg over het plateau boven Aubel, de Rue d’Aubel. Maar net voor de klim aanvangt, kun je rechtsaf een klein weggetje in. Je ziet ‘m al liggen en de meningen zijn verdeeld: ziet ie er nou steiler uit van een afstandje of niet? Al bij al is het flink doorbijten tot je aan de grote weg komt.

3. Les Waides<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Deze krachtpatser zit in diverse toertochten, maar geniet toch van zijn relatieve anonimiteit. Op het juiste moment kan het een vervelende klim zijn, maar eigenlijk is het best mooi. Je begint eigenlijk al bij de Abdij van Val Dieu en rijdt door een wijkje naar boven en daar moet je niet de weg volgen, maar een klein weggetje nemen de weilanden in. Bomen aan je linkerhand signaleren het begin van het einde, maar dat komt pas na een scherpe bocht naar links. Dan volgt de finish vals plat.

4. Kinkenweg<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Een monster zonder weerga. Een van de steilste klimmen van de streek en nog veel lastiger door erbarmelijk wegdek. Alle ingredi\u00ebnten voor een bezoekje aan de Kinkenweg zijn er dus. Je slaat in het dorpje Montzen bij het spoor rechtsaf als je vanuit Hombourg komt en daar is het al de Kinkenweg. De rest moet je maar zelf uitvinden.

5. Lemierserweg<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Net over de grens met Duitsland vind je dit volstrekt onbekende klimmetje. Vreemd dat niemand dit weggetje neemt, want het is mooi en pittig. Pas op in Lemiers. Daar moet je een klein paadje nemen om over de grens naar de klim te rijden.

6. Piemert<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

De klim met de mooiste naam van heel Limburg. Je mag ‘m ook Hoogcruts noemen, maar waarom zou je dat doen als je ook Piemert kan zeggen? Toch wel stiekem een slopend ding, zeker als je al de nodige hoogtemeters hebt gemaakt. Direct gevolgd door de Waufsberg. Yummie.

7. Bergenhuizen<\/strong><\/p>\n

Klim die de finale kleurt van de Volta Limburg Classic<\/a>, dus als je eens die tocht gaat fietsen dan kom je ‘m zeker tegen. Weer zo’n beklimming die de Amstel laat liggen en daardoor nauwelijks gekend is bij de fietsfanaten. Toch de moeite waard.
