Martin Venix  was a stayer at World level.
As an amateur, he became Dutch champion in 1974 and 1976. Later that year he became professional. As a pro Martin Venix was twice World champion stayer in 1979 in Amsterdam en in 1982 in Leicester. Twice behind pacesetter Noppie Koch. He ended his cycling career two years later, without ever become European champion.
Martin Venix was the last Dutch World champion stayer, since this discipline gets off the program by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI ) in 1994.
